I do now. The site is a risque one, not adult per se, but def not family friendly. I wouldn't write on anything I personally found wildly objectionable, but then apart from kiddie porn, there are few things that people would all agree are morally objectionable. Like I wouldn't write pro war stuff, since hundreds of thousands of people have been killed which is something I find objectionable to the extreme, but many would and do. It's easy to say one won't, but when one has a steady offer of $X,XXX a month for what actually is a tiny amount of work, it's easy to bend a little. In the end although I can't say the content thrills me, it's actually fun and a good steady income. In the end, no one is hurt and it doesn't promote hate - so I am good with it. I ran the litmus test...it was cool with my mom so I figured that okayed it
If something is against my morals I honestly would not do it no matter how much money was offered because it will ruin my reputation. I wouldn't know how to answer someone who will ask me why did I do it. I can't just say I did it for the money. So definitely no
What is morally disgusting? Writing racist articles? Bias articles? Unethical articles? I wouldn't but that's just me.
Moral integrity does not arise from what you write to earn your bread and butter. Moral integrity comes into play when you try to break it in your actions. I would write something which I oppose in action, but write it for placing some green paper into my account. Nothing personal here. Just my 2 cents.
Sensible human conduct will not allow one to do so, but a person's actions are dictated by his or her needs, which sometimes go against sensible human conduct. This means it's either you allow sensible human conduct to win and just find other ways to earn money (make do of what you have and what you haven't), or forget about sensible human conduct, which I believe is among the core components of a human being, and develop content that will improve the traffic and popularity of a site that go against your own moral standards.
If it´s really morally not ok for me, there´s no way I´ll write about it in an advertising way. A controversial article will be something else, of course... I´m pretty open, but if something is against my pesonal level of moral and ethics no amount of money makes me go against what I think is right. Sorry...
Just starting out, I almost thought I'd write about ANYTHING just to get some work, but...in the end...that just wasn't true. Peace of mind came way ahead of money. So, if it doesn't feel right, I won't write about it. Tamara
Unless you're a regular employee and not a freelancer, you don't have to do anything of that sort. One of the luxuries of that lifestyle is that no one chooses your gigs and markets but you. It's all a matter of choice, not requirements.
Nope. I'd flip burgers at McD's before going against my morals. Now, you haven't asked me yet what would offend my morals.
of course i will do it...i mean i am not doing this whole writing stuff only for fun or interest...there is a need of dollars too...so if you care for dollars rather than your interest...then i think it's not bad to do...
And if there's a need for any kind of decent reputation (necessary to be a professional in just about any field), it's not good to do.
