Would you work if you afford not working?

Some people can't sit idle, they have to do something; even if they don't need the money.

Whereas some people are just lazy bums. They would eat one meal a day only rather then working hard.

Do you think we should work if we can afford to carry our expenses even if we are not working?

You can donate it if you dont need it. Should I PM you my bank account number??;)

If I was that rich I would think about ways to increase my wealth. Isn't that what all rich people do.

if you didnt need the money then it would depend on if you enjoyed the job, theirs no point working at something that makes you miserable if you dont need too.

but if you have a cool job then sure, it keeps you motivated, sitting about the house lounging watching day time tv gets tedious:D

Even if I can afford not to work, I would still want to keep working... at least to help people and make their life equally beautiful! :)

What is the point in remaining idle and wasting a precious asset such as human effort!

People need to keep busy and active, it improves and enhances all aspects of life, both physical and mental. If you don't need the money there are plenty of worthy causes who need volunteers.

I don't know if "we" should, but I would. I can't sit idle, I'd go crazy!

Definitely would stop working, but I certainly wouldn't sit around and do nothing either (well, maybe for a little while).

What would probably happen is I'd end up doing something stupid and illegal repetitively, and go to jail. Like the saying goes: "Idle time is the Devil's playground".

It depends if I could get a job I loved. If I could work for Google, sure!

    Thats an interesting question.

If you didn't need the money then the activity that you are doing wouldn't be "work" with the connotations that we all associate with the word normally. It would just be activity.

if you are wealthy and dont need to work , but you still look after you friends garden for them because you love gardening...is that work ? it is work because you are actively doing something, but its not working for money.

I would still do things if I had a lot of money.

to be a friendly devils advocate.

I don't agree that people "need" to keep busy, people can sit in peaceful silence their whole lives, without keeping busy :)

I won't work if I can afford to do so, instead I will do something I like and make a profit out of it.
