Maybe if you can enlighten us, I would definitely like to hear, I am a Christian but I really do not see anything wrong with an atheist as a leader, it is just a leader on earth. But I definitely would like to hear the reasons.

Personal experiences, prayers coming true. Yes, I'm planning to blog about it or post somewhere, but I don't want it to be halfhearted, so I will take my time with it.

I would not like to see a leader making decisions affecting everybody not bowing his head before the Lord Jesus Christ first.

I don't want to see a country run by somebody who is not guided by him. And if you don't believe, you are with one foot on Satan's team.

So go ahead, all you non believers make fun and talk crap. But this is how I believe, and thank God I'm not the only one!

IMHO, atheists tend to have a higher regard for life. They are in the here and now and this is what they get. They don't look forward to some grand afterlife. This may be an over-generalization, but is my perspective. I would have a higher level of trust for an atheist in certain situations. I don't believe they would be as likely to wage war unless there was no other option.

Wow... so anyone who doesn't accept Jesus into their lives is "with one foot on Satan's team," is that correct? I'm sure the Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists etc on here really appreciate being told that they're all evil non-believers who "talk crap." Oh wait, I forgot to add the atheists.

The last time I heard stuff like this, it was on some evangelist channel. And the only reason I was watching was that the anchor had some pretty nice tits.

Atheism should be required to run as a politician

Absolutely not, but Islamic nations are religious in nature, Israel is formed as a Jewish state, so the answer is obvious, but the answers won't be that obvious for secular states.

Yes if you are talking about USA, but if I remembered USA is still a secular state.
I stand to be corrected on that, but I think officially it is.

Absolutely, but the whole church and state seperation thing is a myth. People vote, have always voted and will always vote for whoever they feel most comfortable with, and I myself feel most comfortable with a leader who is a Christian.

I respect your choice, we all vote for who we like. Personally, I strongly believe in seperation of church and state. Some countries that are ruled by religion seem barbaric. For example, public stoning of women for religious crimes. I would not like to live in a society like that. What if they did away with the constitution, and substituted it with the 10 commandments? Would you like that?:)

Well, for one thing, that isn't the point I'm making. Cultures vary around the world; secularity is subjective to each nation. The population of Islamic countries is overwhelmingly Muslim and it's in the very nature of Islam for its followers to be conservative about their leadership. This isn't good or bad, it's just the way things are.

And, assuming you're American, isn't the US a secular nation, like wisomtool says? As far as I'm concerned, I definitely wouldn't vote for someone planning to lead the country with the "guidance of Jesus" or "blessings of Krishna."

And I second that. Vote for whoever you feel most comfortable with. But back to my original reply, I certainly don't like to be dubbed a "non-believer," or "crap-talker" just because I don't bow down to your religion.

Heck no, people would get stoned daily, including some of my friends and possibly me. :D

But anyways, no ... religion needs to be a choice.

So I agree with your post.

Just stating my own choice and knowing that I'm not the only one who feels like that, even though I believe most people feeling like that don't publically express it.

I most certainly would NOT vote for an atheist. While it is important from a political role that someone do their job in accordance with what they state they will. An atheist will not state that they will do things in a manner that I would agree with anyway, as I am highly conservative. So if they are truely an atheist, they would be opposed to major things I support, and for major things I would not support. Its simply a way of life. You cant be black and white at the same time, you are either one or the other. I am not an atheist, and I don't stand for the same things and atheist would stand for. So no, I would not vote for an atheist.

    Thanks for asking though. :)

Sure, but we're all made in His image, no matter where we're from or live.

It doesn't make you a crap talker. I myself just feel safer with the leader of the free world being a Christian. We all make human mistakes, but if you're a Christian, I believe you are heading in the right direction and leading the country and the world where it needs to be.

What surprises me is the confidence with which you say this, as if it's an obvious fact that we both agree upon...
