Hi guys, I want to know your opinion. I know a lot about bloggers who write for money - reviews and so on. But what about opportunity to get paid for each repost of your post from your blog? It's like your readers don't have an ability to copy and paste text, but can legally repost whole post with back links to your site for a fee. Would you use it?
i think its a bit much to repost someone else, everyone's blog will have the same content lol. people use something catchy with a link to there article in a twitter post which gets re-tweeted which i think is better. edit: Plus a lot of people might actually repost it and you would need to pay a lot and than you will have duplicate content all over the interwebs. I don't think many people would like to pay people to repost the posts either. If you want writers on the other hand pay them or let them post on your site but instead of money they can put a few links back to there site as long as its related to your site and isn't duplicate content.
Andy, thanks for your comment, but I think you didn't get the concept There are no content duplication. If someone repost your post to other site with AtContent - they repost a JS widget, which shows original content on the other site and looks native. About paid repost - users pay to you to get an ability to repost (or embed) your content to other sites. Just imagine that people don't need to contact you every time - they just paying to you and getting your content displayed on their sites. Look at this example and click on "share and repost" at the bottom of the publication - bit.ly/W2HyWe (sorry, I can't put live links yet)
yeah maybe it might work, just try putting it out there and see how well it goes. i could see that working if the articles where cheap and you have a big data base full of them with most topics and had it to look native to there site than you might get a few people doing that but its got to be cheaper than what most people pay article writers to write for them since the content could be used by anyone. and you would want a way that people don’t just copy and past the content to there sites and claim it as there own. might work better if it was for free for them to take but with in the JS widget you have your google adsence in it that way you get more people doing it and your ads are more likely to get clicked. Thats what i would do with it anyways.
Andy, thanks for your thoughts! We can't put inside google adsence, because it's connected to URL. So, if somebody repost it - the ad would gone. As for other things - it's not for content generation, it's for content creators. So, we suggest that every blogger will use it as a basic solution for the content. They can protect content, track it, monetize reposts, engage users, sell articles and files. We think that's it should be a new standard of working with information. What do you think? One more question - Andy, do you work with hosting?
content is free these days, why would anyone want to pay for any kind of content? they would pay a writer to re-write that content instead of paying you.
Wounded1987, can't agree with you. Quality content is always cost something - premium articles, researches, ebooks, magazines. It's always has a price. As for free, but quality content, - you also spend a lot of time to create it. Lots of people read this quality content. And somebody just copy it - piracy. Some other people are more honest - they ask you about copying your content. But they spend time for that and sometimes you have no time to answer to their requests and emails. Because of that even these people are going to the piracy side, dark side Is it would be better to legalize ad simplify copying process and provide people an ability to say to you "Thanks" for your content and send you some money for using it on other source? I think it's fair and respectful for bloggers and readers. And remember, almost all content in the web still creating by bloggers. Social media - it's a consumer web. So, we still have a chance to be better in the Internet. What do you think on that?
I guess, the best answer will always be, "try it, until you know it", know the niche and market area of that type and see what works, maybe there are people out there who would pay for good content. If I were a premium magazine site or a blog with dozens of visits I would write my own content because allowing it on my site will be bad for Google as it still sees it as duplicate content and can penalize it. In regards for medium and small sites, content is there to be indexed and traffic to come from search engines, ofcurse it has to be good but it also must be unique so that traffic will come from Google and other sources, so if that content is indexed, it's still duplicate content no matter what. So, eventually there are many obstacles you can see, It's not only required to have good content in a website but that content has to be unique for Google, I say unique cheap content is better in ranking than the paid ones from your site for example. You should try and see what works. There are always buyers, the only question is how many. Now in regards to content in JS that can't be indexed, this really comes down to specific types of sites who already have traffic and need to provide additional content to their users.
Haha, interesting conversation here! So, first of all the answer to wounded1987: Penalizing from Google - yes, bad idea, BUT - what if everything works well and Google not penalize you. Even more - your site get higher search ranking because of each repost of your article Tracking content inside JS - it's possible and we do it. So: 1. no content duplication, just displaying through JS widget - it's completely different from simple copy-pase 2. no penalizing from Google 3. search ranking increase for each repost How do you like this?
Glad to see new people, AStateOfLogic - welcome to this thread! Yes, we can. Do you have Wordpress blog?
Andy, we did it already and testing now with first bloggers. If you want - I can share with you link also. About hosting - who are the clients mostly? Maybe we could discuss some interesting opportunities to collaborate. Really interesting place here, thanks to admins
