Let's pretend that you are singer or musician. Any you see ad on facebook or you find my site by google. Would you stay on my site or not? and Why? My site is in my signature
Ok, im imagining heres some things that may shorten my time on your website, the navigation is quite dark for my liking. I think you should be showing the im new here page first, not bothering with that welcome on a separate page that greets me first. The reason: it grabs my attention much more, i click back to welcome and im suddenly not excited. Not sure if your still working on the site but when i click on create profile, the login/register part is not ideally positioned, also when i click the back button from there it takes me back to welcome page, forcing me to click on im new here again to get back to the rest of the interesting stuff. Its like forcing me back to the less interesting page, adding a minor but extra effort.
Ask yourself, will you come back to your website if you're a first time visitor. If not, make it attractive enough for yourself, and others will feel the same way too.
The most important thing is whom you want to show your website obviously to one who is interested in music and vice versa...So put yourself into their shoes and think as a general visitor what exactly others will be looking in your website..
No too bad, do you have any tracking software like google analytics installed? This way you can track user views to see what pages have a high bounce rate and what not.
The only thing I would say is that the website is a little bit dark, but maybe that is how you want it to be Personally I would brighten up at least the navigation menu's but overall i think it is put together nicely
Maybe you could do some sort of reward system or have a contest. Try to promote it on the social networking sites. Good luck!
The layout is very nice IMO. However some of your text doesn't read very fluent. There's some grammar issues. I take it you're not a native english? Not trying to step on your toes here but I think most visitors are put off by poor language use.
