It depends on the subject of the site. But, if I had a lot of traffic, I would definitely consider. If the site has a lot of text, definitely use contextual ads. If it (the site) is more image-based, I would try using something like AdBrite.

It certainly seems that a lot of people are turning to selling ad space - and why not?

It's kind of like a reversal back to the early days of the web, when that was one of the better options for webmasters - except that then advertisers were less inclined to advertise online - luckily that's changed of course!

    For the most part, yes.

That's where our eyes stop, so it makes sense to put your best ads there.

I've never paid more for bottom links that top links and that's for the simple reason that most people have a very short attention span and most readers will not even scroll all the way to the bottom.

Are you talking about footer text links? If so then my answer would be no. Anymore footer links, especially unrelated link clusters, can be scrutinized by Google.

My site is ad and banner free. So the answer to your questions is no I would not. I feel ads and banners degrade the quality of a site.

Dont use Ads ( especially AdSense ) not on the bottom of ur site. Conversion Rate is very low. You can use Links for Sale but they wont be go for much.
