A 17 year old entrepreneur (Jason for those who know him) is selling his baby project The University Kid
He's been providing tips, tricks, techniques on making money and internet marketing for quite some time and through that site he launched his other projects. He is now "forced" to let it go due to other commitments.
For those of us who have been following him, it's a bit of a disappointment but his reasons are valid.

Would you sell off your baby project?
What would you do if you were in his shoes?

If my name was associated with it then I would not sell it. I wouldn't want someone using the site to scam people in my name.

If I had a site like Creditcards.com where I wasn't personally giving advice, I would absolutely sell if the price was right.

Well, I don't see any problem selling it if the price is right.

I sold a baby project a while back to fund two new projects. If it makes financial sense then yes of course.

I will have no problems selling it if it meets my price expectation.

I wouldn't want too, and have no plans to do so in the immediate future, but at some point down the road, if the price is right and it makes good business sense, I would. It would be a little sad to see it go though.

I wouldn't feel bad about selling it, especially if I had other reasons, as the owner does. To be honest though, I'm not sure that TUK did the right thing by announcing the blog was for sale, as a load of readers will see that and never return, reducing the resale value.

If the price is right then why not? The proceeds could always be used to create something new :)

Sometimes it's hard to sell your baby project. But when you have commitments, you have to let it go. Life should move on. But as far as I am concerned, I will part with it with a heavy heart.

The money is what really matters to me if the deal makes sense then I'll do it even if a project is my baby.

I let my first website/business go as i knew it would grow more without me. I got a great price and a team developing and running it full time, whereas i could only work evenings on it.

The decision to focus on other commitments should be based on whether or not the other commitments are more important to him and will make him more money. He should look to get at least market value for his site if not a little bit more.

Of course I'd sell a pet project, I can start a better one with the proceeds.

Yes i would sell it if i need the money badly for my own need such as payment of clinic fee etc.
And its the right choice to sell the project now coz his website is popular so the price can fetch up to a certain amount of price.
He can start a new site anytime he want after he sold the site to other buyer

The guy was teaching people how to flip websites on his website so much so that he is flipping the website where he taught people how to flip websites!

Unless the buyer is better and smarter at the MMO biz. It's all a matter of the right person snapping up the website.

Might be. It depends on the price the buyer can give .
