MowMoo.com Registered it earlier today on a whim as I had a free .com to use at work Any feedback would be greatful Regards
Sure I would! Remember Yahoo? MowMoo is also something along the line, one advantage is also it is brandable to almost any web sites. This would be a fun and good domain to work with. Easy to remember for sure! Congrats.
Many Thanks Ive an idea what I want to do with it, just looking for people to offer advice and support
Well I was looking at creating a music website, dedicated to supporting unsigned bands as its something Im passionate about and Ive been offered advertising slots on various radio stations when we're ready to go live. Initially looking to replicate www.nme.com yet offer more in the way of services such as webdesign, band promotion, selling recording studio slots, merchandise, venue promotion, PR services etc However Im also thinking MowMoo has the potential to become something more radical Im totally new to the whole concept of domain branding and generating revenue but Im eager to learn and hopefully create something that I can focus more time on
I like your name but just keep in mind that ALOT of work goes into branding a domain. If your domain doesn't have any intrinisic meaning standing on its own then you will need to do a lot of work convincing not only people but also search engines what your site is about for awhile before people remember it.
Thanks for your input Im going to be putting in immense hours and I've been able to recruit approx 8 staff members so far in helping out with the initial design and content etc If I do go ahead with the Music side of things we've been offered 50,000 flyers and approx 10,000 vinyl stickers as well various advertising slots on podcasts, local radio stations etc However Im going to try and get in touch with all the University Unions in the UK and see if we can organise a sponsored night once a month at each uni Andy Rourke from The Smiths had our old logo (Hunt For Decent Music) held up for a couple of photos, we were going to storm Radio 1 and Virgin Radio to try and get more pictures of Celebs with our Logos etc Shame it all went tits up when I accidently deleted the database whilst hanging out my arse
Anything is brandable. For example, YouTube.com is not an appealing domain, but it was branded right.
Yahoo is even worse, Baidu is hard to pronounce not to say brand but these are some of the most successful in the industry. Of course having a good brandable name does makes things slightly easier.
Thanks for the replies, currently working on logos and banners now will post a new topic regarding the graphics to get feedback when they've been sent to me
