Would you risk getting flamed for the sake of links?

I've been burnt and flamed for standing up to what I believe. But for the sake of getting links, would you do it?

    Here's an interesting article: http://www.linkbaitarticles.com/self-marketing/want-to-get-famous-take-sides/

    An excerpt:

Write articles that clearly take sides

Say your piece about your disappointments to Google for being ambiguous about the whole Page Rank and Search Results metrics. Laud Yahoo for its exhaustive local search, innovative and useful Yahoo!Answers and most of all adherence to client PRIVACY (Hey, Google knows what’s the color of my undies today!).

And if you have the guts for it, write why you think Jolie is your hero and how you would love to become a biatch-partner-mom material like she. If you were a man, tell the world: “Why I Would Marry a Jolie-Like Temptress.”

    Now, it’s time to duck.

    -----------------

LOL. I wouldn't write anything negative about Google in the near future just yet. 'Fraid of getting b****-slapped like John Chow :D

That is sweet... I'm so going to look into that. Given the nature of my blog, I already take an obvious side and receive quite a few comments on my posts from opposing views... might as well get some backlinks too ;)

Love this one from your site: 5 Reasons America is One of the Most Blasphemous Countries in the World and Why Christians are Full of It

LOL. It's just the way you presented it, with all those percentages. :D

I've noticed that bigger websites like Yahoo also use this strategy. I have noticed more and more one sided Yahoo articles with thousands of comments. These articles tend to be quite biased and even ignorant. I found myself even wanting to register just to put the author in his place. Then by seeing the number of comments I could see that this was his intention in taking this stance.

Sometimes, I just can't believe these big sites like Yahoo. They are pimping their contents as though their contents are low class prostitutes. I can totally dig that with new and emerging sites. They need the buzz to get noticed, to have a hold on their target audience. But big sites? They have enough visitors to earn millions in a day and there's no need to write ignorant articles with the mere intention of putting people in a cock fight.

Yeah.. I noticed even Shoe blog something nice about google recently in a post "Than You Google". There are a lot of things we all complain about this giant and still we get all the services from google for free.

Hey, thanks for picking up my site :) It's still quite new. I've purchased the domain a few days back.

I received a huge amount of traffic from this thread, so I thought I might as well join the group and thank you all personally for giving my newborn site a boost.

I'll post more link baiting techniques on the site. I have a couple of tutorials in the works.

In the meantime, enjoy my latest article, entitled "Sarah Palin Guest Stars on CSI -- Anyone?"

Click the link above, just below my username.

I can't post any link just yet since I'm new.
