I would probably end up keeping it for like 24 hours and then when I started to feel bad about it, i would turn it in :'(
100 dollars, it depends where I'd find it. I'd pick it up and put it up into the air and see if anyone was looking near by or something. If not then I'd keep it and post on the local forums that I found the money, if no one claimed it I'd keep it. If I found 1000 I'd tell the police, same goes with anything above that amount.
We can't really say if for instance we found a huge amount of money, we immediately think that we should return it to the owner. If someone like me found some of it, there is a probability that I will not return it depending on the state of my life. If I am poor and barely eat in a week, then I will decide to keep the money in order to satisfy my needs. I would be considering it as a blessing for me.
In my country you can't deposit a check into another bank account You can't cash it without an ID as well
I would have taken it a few years back but now i think you should not take whats not yours. I have had my lost wallet returned to me a few times and this did not take a penny. If you do find it you can always take it to the nearest police station and if no owner is found within 2 weeks i think, you can keep it. (UK)
I would hand anything in and have done a number of times. I find cash quite often left in cash machines. Recently I found about 30 pounds from the person before in a supermarket. I walked to the desk to hand it in and felt like everyone was watching me as though it was a test to see if I was honest
Thing is, we're not talking about wallets. I got the impression that the question was asked about finding money on the street.. like as in a bill stack or something. You can't possibly know whom it belongs to.
It depends. If it was a check, I would turn it into their bank and have them let whomever know that their check was found. If it was cash, then I would ask anyone in the area if they dropped it. If no one claims it, then it's mine. Though, in the beginning of August I was with my mom in the school book store and someone dropped $10. I said several times "Someone dropped $10!" and no one responded, so my mom swiped it up. Then when we were walking toward the other building to get a parking pass she stepped off the curb awkwardly (by a gutter) and twisted her foot really badly - had to go to the hospital and everything. XD I told her thats what she got for claiming someone else's moneyyyy
1. I would return it in 99% of cases. (refer to rule number 42) 2. It was a check so how would you get away with stealing it anyway without scamming a bank? 3. Rule number 42 in my book of honesty says: You get drunk and leave your pants at an intersection and wake up pantless in someones yard you deserve to lose whatever you had in your pants. I woulda kept his damn money if not for number 2.
well this is a hard question........... hmmmm im struggling here !!! well i would have to keep it im afraid ,,,, your all going to boo me now arnt you !!! lol .... ohhhhhhhhh come on you would aswell !!!
It depends who it is. If it was someone like me, not rich, not poor, I would return it. If it was someone rich I would totally take it.
Wow! I am impressed! It appears that the majority of DP members wrote that they would try to return the money! I feel much better participating in these forums. Cause, my entrapment question is: If you wouldn't return they money, than, what does that say about your integrity? And if your integrity is in question, then why should other DP members ever conduct business with you? Sorry, I threw that last question out there to force you to think (that's why its an entrapment question ) I am in no position to judge anyone. Personally, if I stumbled upon an abandoned room with 1 million dollars in it, I'm not sure what I'd do either. I like Mayank's answer the best!
Well,it depends on whether it is legal or not.If i found money and no one declare to own it,i will keep it,if i found money and some 1 declare that he owns it,i think i have to turn it back.
this is the best reply in my opinion what goes around comes around do a good deed an you will see that some people do a good deed back. look at the long term benefits not the short term ones
WOW most people on this forums seems to be honest, but in the real world most people would keep the money if they could. Personally I would only return money/wallet/phone or anything else valuable if I could trace it back to the owner. If there is no way to trace it then finders keepers. A check is different, its not worth anything until you cash it in.
