I'd highly recommend Wordpress. The only issue I have with WP is the category/page issue. You can never have a true "breadcrumb trail" becuase categories are always forced to have a 2nd level "/category/" in their URL, and pages always have the 2nd level of the URL. So, you'll always have a path that looks like this: mysite.com/category/fruit -> mysite.com/category/fruit/apples instead of: mysite.com/fruit -> mysite.com/fruit/apples It does become an annoyance if you're making a very large site. Also, it's best practice not to go beyond 4 levels within a url (i.e. mysite.com/fruit/red/apples/delicious/buy etc), so, the "/category/" thing already uses up one.
I am a big drupal buff myself. I've used joomla and its much more of a pain to get 'seo' ready. Drupal is very easy and has some great SEO modules (you really only need a couple). Also, Drupal has one of the most advanced and flexible 'categorization' abilities. (its called taxonomy in drupal... makes it seem more complicated but its not).
Taxonomy is what sets Drupal apart from the rest of the CMS' IMO. Yes wordpress is good to use depending the magnitude of your site. If you want to see big corporations and others using drupal visit this site: http://buytaert.net/tag/drupal-sites Companies like Universal Music are running Drupal as a back end.
