Would you recommend adsense for me?

Myself and a partner are starting a Personal Concierge service targetting busy professionals who perhaps don't have the time to complete extra work like secretarial services, travel and home services.

I was wondering whether adsense would be a good option for my website? Or would it look a little unprofessional for a business like this to be trying to make a profit outside what they are actually providing for their consumers?

I was hoping some people could give their experiences with adsense who are running a business themselves..

    Thanks in advance,
    Rob.

Your client may find advertisemet of other company on your site, which provides same service and also giving some offers.

You may get few cents for the click but you will lost a valuable client.

Thanks for the reply - much appreciated.

But wouldn't it be possible to point to google sites that are more related to other things that might be of interest to the reader - eg. my Personal Concierge business linking users with different types of food and wine to enjoy?

Yes, you should find your niche competitors and block them displaying ads on your site by competitive ad filter in the adsense account..

Ok sure, I'll definitely have to consider that when I do go to use Adsense.

But is it possible to use ads that are more for other services, rather than ones that directly relate to my business?

You might get ads for competing services but at the same time it may provide a nice little extra income.

Thanks for the reply - would be interested to know if from experience people have found that they have lost business due to people visiting competitors' sites via adsense?

I'm glad that I will be able to block out competitor's links - will enable me to target my visitors differently via the advertisements. I am not hugely keen on the idea, but it will hopefully help me maintain the site until I have more of a solid client base and then I can remove them.

From a personal standpoint I leave business/corporate/eCommerce sites with Adsense ads on them faster than I can click the close button. It just doesn't give me any confidence in the product/service they have to offer... why do they need ad revenue if their service/products are so great?

You would be much better off without Adsense.

That's the sort of thing I was thinking as a matter of fact - I'd probably be a little conscious of that if if I was entering a business website too.

Just thought I'd gauge some opinions and see if it has worked for anybody else in the past.

In all honesty, adsense seems, by an large, to work best on content sites. E-commerce sites seem to either refrain from using them or putting them in areas that does not give it too much exposure. They probably hope if the customers do not find what they want on the site thay will click on one of theads that are either dispalyed at the bottm or the sides.

I would suggest you to get an adsense account and do not put it on every page just put it on pages that have some articles or other tips etc..(most probably put adsense ads on pages that you consider as exit pages).

    Goodluck
