Would you guys recommend a mentor for someone just geting into niche/micro niche marketing? Or will I sooner or later just figure it out? I'm just thinking if there is anyway to avoid making newbie mistakes why not do that.

Not sure if you mean a mentor who you could call at any time or a mentor that you can join their coaching program online.

Yes I would certainly recommend a mentor, but one who you trust. One who you think will be able to guide you.

It can certainly reduce the learning curve in this business.

Some are outrageously expensive, while some are decently priced.

I would reccomend a mentor for 2 reasons.

    1) Time - they can save you time by getting you the information you need whatever stage you are at
    2) Money - If you follow an online course and are able to trust that that course is right for you, you have your journey / path set out and are more able to resist running off after the latest "guru bombshell". It's very easy in this game to be distracted and end up buying loads of stuff that you didn't really need and that could sit on your hard-drive gathering digital dust.

The question is - how involved a mentor do you want? I like to follow a comprehensive weekly course, that has an action plan for each week. Others will want weekly phone calls.

Having someone hold you accountable for your business decisions each week is definately a good way forward and one of the best ways to make progress.

    Regards

    Francis

If you can find a mentor that really is making it amd that you can work with, then yes.

When I started out in IM I had the chance to find a mentor who had a couple of students at the same time. It is really helpful and worth it to help you not to lose yourself in all the information you find out there.

You'd have to really trust the person that's mentoring you. For that reason I would recommend membership coaching sites as well.

A good mentor can save you from some traps and errors which you otherwise might have stepped in. But be careful what information you share. Not everyone will do you go. Best thing you can do is read, read and read some more on your own. That will certainly take some time and effort, but do it, and maybe even get one or two domains to make some own testing with. Then read some more and form your own ideas of what work and what doesn't.

A mentor can be expensive... take a look around and get all the free ebooks that are available and read, read, read!
