Well, im a computer science undergrad and ive been studying image processing since i began and i have some really good idea that would help organize the web(including videos, something that youtube sucks at) but i dont have enoght time to implement and i think i can make some big money with that.

College is time consuming, i have to attend like 5 hours a day and still have tests that takes 4 whole weeks in a semester. And the teachers are usually so fucking retarded, they think they are good because the have a phd with some stupid thesis that didnt do shit. They ARE NOT RICH AND SMART EITHER, so why do i have to learn how to make a living from someone that isnt good at it?

I love the web, i develop websites since i was 10, ive seen the web change from cgi/perl to php and now to rails/java. I have also made some money(i pay college on my own) and i can easily make a living if i quit, but i wont have the fucking paper saying that i have a degree and my parents think that a man without a degree is nothing.

Well, the question is as the thread title says, would you quit?

I'm sorry if i made any english mistakes, its not my mother tongue.

Well since your already in school i would say no don't quit as it's a waste of money first off and if your looking for a job and not working for yourself then you'll need some form of qualifications. You'll need both work experience and school experience.

I already quit (personal reasons), but yeah, like jagged said, since you're already in school - don't quit.

If you don't want to get a Job (and hence, be "settled"), you can quit the college. But hey, for your parents' sake, get the degree, I am also not a fan of studying my core subject, but would finish college to keep my ignorant parents happy ("a man without degree is Nothing" type of thinking they have, too).

~ You can always return and a different perspective may be what is needed anyway.

I'd say don't quit unless you're making more than your opp cost. You need to already be making a profit before you give up the potential for a salary out of school.

If you've already put in so much work and time its like a retroactive waste to quit school now. If you're getting bored try taking fewer classes and spend more time making money. That's a win for you and even if you don't plan on using your degree to get a job it is a big deal and a huge milestone in life...my 2 cents.

^^^ I tend to agree, if you've got all of that time invested I definitely wouldn't quit.

Good luck with whatever you decide
