Would you pay to advertise on a Podcast? Opinions appreciated :)

    Hi all, I'm new to this particular section of DP but was hoping to get some opinions and it seemed the appropriate place to ask.

    I'm considering starting a podcast - if I did so it would be related to making money online in some way; whether specific or themed on a podcast-by-podcast basis is yet to be decided.

    What I'd like to know is if a internet/money related podcast were listed in iTunes and had X number of downloads per episode, how much would you pay for ad spot?

    For example;
    1000 downloads and a 15 second ad slot would be worth X to you.
    5000 downloads and a 20 second ad slot would be worth X.
    etc.

    The ad slots I'm referring to would likely be video commercials - although alternatively product placement (physical or simply discussing your product/service/etc.) or pure audio (like a radio commercial as opposed to it simply being mentioned/touched on) could be possible too.

    I'd just like to get a vague idea - so any opinions would be appreciated; in particular what you'd consider reasonable for an ad slot per 1000 downloads, or the like.

    Thanks everyone :)

    Alexis.
