Would you market a meta-search engine?

I have just created a meta-search engine and launched it at http://www.cinchsearch.com

I thought the ideas was somewhat unique. Every link (except news) is paying me either per click or per sale. If you had this, would you promote it and how would you market it?

I can build sites, but I struggle big time with marketing/promoting.

    Honestly?

I would never make a search engine because its one of the most difficult niches to get into. I wouldnt waste any time or money trying to market it.

Sorry, but you picked a very very difficult area to persue.

It was more of a learning experience to learn the whole xml feed and play with advanced SEO techniques (see the urls, etc. etc). The site is really just 1 php file.

I appreciate your opinion. Makes me think maybe I should just consider it as a lesson learned and move on.

Personally, as I have had a little input into this project. I think the theory behind it is fine. You are not trying to compete against the big boys, you are trying to monetize traffic for advertisers. The key is trying to drive the traffic to the site. A little more content may help!

The concept is OK, but I wouldn't say it is unique as I have seen other people do these sorts of things.

True, the concept is not unique at all. I am not sure what part of it I considered to be unique. But you are right, it is not unique.
