think about it, if you scam and scammer you become a scammer, it does not matter if you have a reason or not, if someone scammed you report him to the authorities and hope for the best. Never stoop down to a scammer level, its the lowest you can become in the market place.

Well, scamming a scammer is wrong - unless you're trying to get your money back ;)

why would you want to scam a scammer? Chances are they're gonna be wiser than you to take your money and run, not try and do something with you.

I mean it'd have to be a really stupid scammer to stick around and say "oh I'll buy this off of you"...

So no, it's wrong, and it makes you look like a fool.

Well, i do regular exchanges and i know that there are some ppl, who have complex brains, n they do cheat ppl (mostly newbies or simple minds). That does not mean that they scam every time. Scamming is a part of their game, and thats is not they are ALL about.

So, my point is - if I know someone has scam a know person from my list and i got enough proofs for that, would you mind if i scam that person, and return the money to whom he scammed..?

May be we can frame a new word - can we call it Ethical Scamming.. hehe :p

sure that would let the scammer feel guilty, he might just understand how others would have felt when scammed

I get your point but scamming is scamming. Would you rob someone who had robbed a bank, take the money and give it back to the bank? That would then make you a criminal. Adding "ethical" to it doesn't change a thing.

That's makes us the same just like them. I would prefer to see them go to jail for the crimes that they commit

Bank logic doesn't apply here.. Bank is none of my business... I am talking practical. We do regular online dealing with people, and you will accept that business can not be done all neat... and ppl do behave in unexpected way sometimes .. My experience says that if u got to survive, u got be cunning. I am no saint, and i got no plans for being one either.

I personally would support a group of ppl, who can help us get back the scammed money, in any possible ways... I see nothing wrong with this process.. Scamming a Scammer with intentions of settling the scores is perfectly fin with me.. and i dont confuse them with my ethics either.

My honestly is for honest ppl. Scoundrels deserves getting screwed big time:mad:...

I used the bank scenario to show correlation. Two wrongs don't make a right and no matter how much good you think you are doing, it's still not right.

In your first post, you said you were doing money exchanges. Would that be say, exchanging E-Gold for PayPal and so on? If so, would you think it was right if the parties involved had their accounts banned for doing something wrong?

To be honest I dont blame the scammers entirely, 3/4 of the times the victims are at blame for being so damn stupid, have been online 6 years or so, never been scammed, many attempts yes, its basic common sense.

hehe, bro u r making it philosophical :D

as for it, my philosophy is simple, Tit for Tat... there is nothing right or wrong, even if there is - i dont really care.

Be nice to me, n i will reciprocate the same, be nasty n repent it...

Newtons law, every action has equal n opposite reaction <--- scientific philosophy :p

    Cheers!

PS : BTW, i also thought abt a way out from scamming, here :

This is my last (possibly last) post in this thread. From what you're saying, you're not going to "scam" someone that has "scammed" you. You're going to attempt to scam a "scammer" due to a money exchange which someone lost money, that didn't involve you.

What would "Be nice to me, n i will reciprocate the same, be nasty n repent it..." mean if they didn't harm you in the first place?

I am not planning to scam anyone bro, just wanted to have DP members opinion on how they see this situation - WHAT IF u come to know that someone has recently scammed 100 bucks from one of ur regular dealers. Now that he lost money, means that indirectly the whole business cycle / network gets affected. So in case that scam er tires to exchange with me, with no intentions of scamming me, but i am well aware that he has scammed another biz dealer/partner of mine, I see the act of 'scamming him and returning money back to the person to whom it belongs at first place' as settling scores.

We can call it Bad Debts recovered :D

This way might not be sound right ethically, but then life is not just black n white, it got many colors n facets. Its much more practical than a book of Moral Science that we study in 6th grade. We need to get over it and have a realistic approach towards life

    Cheers!

It doesn't mean the scamming has to be done by you. What goes around comes around. They will all meet their match.
