Hei, at HostIdea.net we are about to start selling VPS's. I am wondering what do you prefer more, a lot ram or a lot of BW ? We will probably take server with 16gb ram on dedicated 100Mbps port ( We will try to sell high BW packages. )

I am thinking about next package on quad core server ( equal share ):

    Storage 50gb
    Bandwidth 1000GB ( 1TB )
    512 guarantee ram
    1024 burstable ram.
    LxAdmin

Would you buy this package for $50 ? If not, what do you think would be good price for this offer?

    Thanks for help ;)

$50/month is quite good enough. How about the support?

Honestly, who will need that much bandwidth? I say that the best way to get customers in the VPS or dedicated market is to market yourself with reliability at the forefront. Offer plans that are adequate and make it clear that you will be able to cater to individual needs with cheap excess bandwidth, disk space etc. if needed. Depending on how good your level of service is, that will give you longer lasting customers that give you more money and don't crash your server

No actually I won't over sell it. For example if I have 8gb ram on node, then I can make 15packages, correct ? ( It would be 16, but system need some memory to run. )

Server from FDC can burn about 15gb-20gb BW.

And from my personal experience, people buy 5times more then they need, for this reason I think this won't be overselling.

Anyway, so would you guys be interested in this offer ? Node would be: Quad core q6600, with 8gb ram and we would put only 15clients on this node.

    In $50 price is included our 24/7 support + 5 dedicated IP's ;)

Even though you may not be specifically overselling, the prices and plans may make it seem that way. I think that if you have 15 clients it would b e a good deal, but my main concern with VPS plans with large limits is that I will be on a box that also has some CPU hungry person making my sites slow down a lot. Also what type of connection will you have to your box?

As for the 5 times more view, that is overselling. Selling more than you can manage to give if every plan is completley utilised is overselling.

It does appear you are overselling but I'm not saying you are. I'm guessing you are using OpenVZ for virtualization software?

I wouldn't buy that VPS. Get a dedicated for cheaper or go shared. VPS is the worst of the two I think.
