Hello people. I want to start to flipping websites/blogs and actually, i'm creating a wordpress blog about beauty products and tips (it is just reviews, tips and others informations) to sell it in the future. But i don't know which domain to choose, i don't have many funds in my Paypal account and the .info is the most cheap only 2.17$ and the .com is 9$. I have two choices: buy the .info or wait for my Paypal funds increase and then buy the .com My website is talking about beauty informations so a .info could fit it but i will also sell products via Amazon and others affiliate programs so .com (commercial site) also fit it. What would you choose if you were me? And the most important: are you ready to buy a .info domain? (because there are more .com in Internet than .info)
My experience with info's have been very good. I started using them when I could not find a domain name that had my keyword in it as all good dot coms are going to be taken. If you can find a good info with your keyword then google will reward you for it once you get your seo going. I have got infos ranking #1 or on the first page a lot of times for my keyword. If you do your research on your keywords and then pick a good name it won't matter but the best thing is if its a good name and easy to remember then your going to get lots of type ins too.
I'd get the .com one. .info is really cheap to reg but will cost about the same with .com when you need to renew it. It's harder to get traffic to .info domains as well. The positive thing is that there are many good names left at .info.
Typically the difference you are talking about is not anything compared to the cost of the entire program, hosting, building, not to mention the value on time, listing with Search Engines, might as well make it worth it and get the COM. If it is a private name such as sushi.com that does not relate to your products, try to get a keyword name too like perfume for sale.com, what one might find your products in the yellow page categories for your keywords. I stay away from hyphens. They are frowned upon for future sale potential. Good luck, and hope this helps...
if .com isn't available. then i'd go for .info. keyword is important so choose where your keyword is available.
Personally, I've got about 25 Domains. Out of that 25 about 15 of them are .info the rest are .com there's absolutely nothing wrong with a .info domain.
Some people thinking that domain dot info not support for SEO , but i not think so..... just buy it and begin to link building, make good content and start to make money online
If it is a generic keyword domain, .info is fine. If you want a brand name for your business, stick with .com, otherwise there will be confusion with whoever has the .com name.
I buy .info domains to test a new niche. I don't have much money and so spending £8-£10 on a .com and getting nothing back is annoying, wheras a £1 .info domain I couldn't care less if it fails.
.info domains are terrible for SEO purposes. They've also been so abused by spammers and hackers that Google rarely ever indexes them properly. I bought a few about five years ago and built a blog and a forum on them. IBoth are pagerank 4, only original content and both are neglected by Google. Also, .info domains have little or no investment value. If you're trying to flip domains, stick with .com
The only time I would consider using a .info, is if I got a short domain, seo.info, for example. In all other cases, .com or .net are far better, but that's simply my opinion.
I suggest waiting a bit to collect enough money to buy a .com domain. Lets say if you registered and developed the .info site. Someone can easily but the .com extension and just sit on it while your work your xxx on your site to get more visitors but they get natural typeins.
It's always better to register the .com domain first, and then if you wish register others. Because sometimes if you register a domain other than .com, the actual .com may get free traffic from your domain!
