Definitely not. Why create new scripts something like wordpress when it has been accepted widely. Why just not create new script that could enhanced wordpress something like wordpress module puggins. You can sell the scripts but make sure it make it unique, looks like a big script and really worth the buy.

Well consider this Scorpiono, if users say "hey yea I would buy it for $50"... and you build it and they keep to there word then you have bank right there. Add in the fact that you've probably sold it to twice as many people because more people where attracted to the price and hey that's not bad. Factor in that since there will be more people buying the script more people will want themes, templates and that will only make it more popular...

IF the people say $50, give it to them for $50... take care of them and they shall take care of you.

Best of luck on the launch!

No I wouldn't pay for a wordpress because I can create a website that is full html, also I have experience making those kind of scripts but I am not that perfect.

I wouldn't buy a script for 100$. at most I would pay 50 and even then it has to be very very good.
php takes a week to learn and then you can sell your own templates for 50$ to others ;)

I guess I would look for a free alternative. But if it's the only one out there then I will fork over the hundred bucks.

I would just go for the Free WordPress.

if Wordpress would cost, I'd never pay more $100

    Thx, LeVampire

No, I would not pay $100 for a script. Assuming the script I need is $100 and the only one of it's kind, I would probably try to make my own or find an alternate solution.

Anyway, eventually every monopoly will fall to at least some level of competition. If an idea is good, eventually someone will copy it. :)

If it were the only one, that would mean blogging wouldn't be popular and I wouldn't have any need for it. If it was popular, there would be more versions, or I would code one myself and opensource it to get nice cheap exposure for myself. So no.

I'd like to thank everyone for the feedback, keep it coming but please keep it mind that I have used the term "wordpress" as a general mark of a good script - my future project has nothing to do with blogging, I was talking about scripts with great potential in general. - Thanks a million again, keep feedback rolling, I'll keep the updates as well.

Here goes my first tip: www.FrenzyRSS.com - useless tip, but I had to give it out ;)
