Its happened to me many times, not at a scale of $250,000 but near the lowly $50's. I've always returned them to the person even though when I contact them and ask "Why did you send me money" they reply "Oh, sorry I sent it to the wrong person... take it as a gift if you don't want to return it." This has happened to me about 2 times since November, 2008. Point being, its always good to be nice to others, and it's good when you don't cause them trouble but ask yourself how you would be doing in their shoes. I would definately return the money to the company.
I'd just leave it there to see if it wasn't removed within the next few days. If I did withdrawal early I'd fear getting a visit from the cops.
Yes..surely.....without an iota of doubt.... It is a known fact that that the company would anyway be able to take it from you, it it better to take the initiative yourself and do some good karma! Regards, RightMan
I would definitely give it back. Not only is it the right thing to do, but what if you spend it and then they claim it back? You don't want that sort of debt hanging over your head. I'd rather be able to sleep at night knowing I've done the right thing too.
I would at least mention it, but depending on the bank the US probably owns it so they will just take it from me
I would leave it in the account and not touch it for a few years. If they haven't noticed by then, I'd gradually spend it and live off the interest
I would leave it and not touch it and pretend I didn't realize it was there for a few months, and then I would get a lawyer and find out when they can no longer legally get it back. I really don't know how that works. If I knew there was no way they could force me to give it back, I would start spending it. If they called and ask for it back though I would have no problem returning it to them.
Absolutely. I will return the money back without any hesitate because I know that is not my money. - Dynashox -
