Hi, I've been reading DP a lot over the last few months but this is my first post. Next month I'll launch a travel site www.backpackingbrazil.com which will be high on content (about 30 000 words) and targeted at independent travellers/backpackers. These people are predominantly 18-35. I'll intially use adsense to generate revenue. I'm thinking of getting it translated into other major languages (adsense ones) and as payment I would offer the majority of adsense revenue to the translator. Say a 30/70 split. The more they translate the greater their potential earnings. But as a lot of young europeans (Germans, French, Danish, Swedes) are fluent in English do you think this would impact on my English adsense revenues? Or do you think my cut of the other languages would be revenue positive? Anyone have any opinions or experience in this area and what revenue split would you suggest? Thanks in advance, Gavin
Translating can't hurt. It can only increase the size of your audience. I've been thinking of "Frenchifying" my sites for a while now.
