Hey, I know that to get lower bids that you must have a high CTR. And that many people bid high first so they appear higher, and get more clicks, and then gradually decrease their bids. What if I did this: I bid on the keywords I want, but I bid the lowest that I can for that keyword, so I would just appear. It would be like 10 cents. And then I got to my ad and I keep clicking it, and I keep clicking it through proxies and so on. So that I click up about 30 clicks or so. At that moment, my CTR should be like 20% of something, so I should be able to get better positions right there. Would this work?
No. If someone else was doing that to your ads, it's exactly what you would want google to filter out as invalid clicks. So, if you're doing it to your own ads, they'll also filter it out as invalid clicks.
Detection and filtering techniques: Each click on an AdWords ad is examined by our system. Google looks at numerous data points for each click, including the IP address, the time of the click, any duplicate clicks, and various other click patterns. Our system then analyzes these factors to try to isolate and filter out potentially invalid clicks. Advanced monitoring techniques: Google uses a number of unique and innovative techniques for managing invalid click activity. We can't disclose details about the software, except to say that we're constantly working to expand and improve our technology. The Google Team: In addition to our automated click protection techniques, we have a team that uses specialized tools and techniques to examine individual instances of invalid clicks. When our system detects potentially invalid clicks, a member of this team examines the affected account to glean important data about the source of the potentially invalid clicks. It's at the heart of the adwords system - advertisers have to be able to trust that google will filter out such clicks. Generally it's from competitors, or trouble makers. People don't usually try to increase their own advertising bill by clicking on their own ads, but I'm sure google have seen every 'trick' in the book by now.
I think that I can beat a "system". No system is fool-proof, there are always ways around them. And Google always talks more than the "real" action they put in.
I sure will try it, as soon as I get my campaigns back up again. Need to make a completely new landing page, since Adwords hit me with a low quality score and all my bids have to be $10 now <_<
Takes way more than a few clicks to affect their system. They need to see normal traffic patterns of clicks (not insanely high CTR compared with all other ads) over a long period of impressions to determine that your ad is high quality. You'll end up spending a fortune before "beating their system". Their click fraud detection is really good - If you're coming here and asking questions like this and then claiming you can beat their system, that's a sure sign that you can't.
Exactly. Plus there's less effort involved in just redoing your landing page, rewriting your ads to improve your quality score, rather than trying to come up with silly tricks, that google will have come across many times before, will cost you money, and could possibly get your account suspended.
No Im sorry i don't, I assumed there must be other people that has done this. Otherwise, why dont we do it?
