Does this really help search engine optimization? For example I was asked to help optimize a forum: there is a phpbb forum to get to it you type: forum.alertpaypro.com to go to the general discussion you click on the link and it takes you to: http://forum.alertpaypro.com/viewforum.php?f=28 Then you can click on a category and it takes you to that category http://forum.alertpaypro.com/viewtopic.php?t=872 Well I looked that site up at google and it indexes the pages like: forum.alertpaypro.com/ viewtopic.php?p=1938&sid=bb15d14dbda7cd7b5b78592dcb885ce7 So I gound a mod that is supposed to make an "archive" or html version so that the search engines will index it/find it better. So if we do exactly as above but use the html version to get to it you type: http://www.forum.alertpaypro.com/archive/index.php insted of forum.alertpaypro.com to go to the general discussion you click on the link and it takes you to: http://www.forum.alertpaypro.com/archive/general-discussion-28/ instead of http://forum.alertpaypro.com/viewforum.php?f=28 Then you can click on a category and it takes you to that category http://www.forum.alertpaypro.com/archive/firefox-872.htm instead of http://forum.alertpaypro.com/viewtopic.php?t=872 Now the html version still have .php on the homepage but .htm on the first category. Is this really going to increase or change how google indexes them? Thanks
