Well I have been thinking of creating a social network. I have the domain CheaBoy.com that im not currently using. Do you think that would be an appropriate name for a social network, or should I think of something different?
I personally don't think its a good choice since the domain don't sound like a social network name. Instead, you should try use it to setup some blog.
I agree, it doesn't sound like a Social Networking name either. How would this look in the header of all of your pages as a title graphic? I'm not saying you need a name like MySpace or Facebook but definitely something short and catchy that is easy to remember.
i totally agree..it doesn't sound like a social bookmarking. but i think it match for e-commerce or forum sites
I should have said this first, but the site is actually going to be like a myspace for gamers. Would that change your opinions?
I am not familiar with the term as BobChrist mentioned but if the term is exclusive to only Warcraft, people may think you site is a Social Network primarily for Warcraft players. But if the term is used in other gaming situations as well, then you may have something. While the name more closely resembles the type of site you are looking to set up being in a specific niche, I'd still pick something that applies to the gaming industry as a whole. I just thought of a domain name that is not yet registered but I'll send that to you in a PM in case others try and steal it!
Domains with .com extension are the most popular ones.So don't worry to use this domain. It's pretty good for you to use it.The most important for you is that how to transfer the flows to the new one after you change the domain. What's more, you should keep SEO work on and on, and do not forget to promote your new domain for it's still not known to others.Or It may bring you a loss.
That sounds like a gaming place. Personally, I prefer easy names those that do not necessarily convey any meaning/hint of proposed activities but are short, easy to remember and cool sounding.
Man, just go for it. I had to look up what chea meant. I guess I am getting old and out of touch, but from what I saw "chea boy" is just like saying "Yeah boy". From that aspect, it is a pretty cool name. You just have to have an audience that already knows what it means (gamers) or you have to explain it. Either way, just go out there and do it and don't obsess over it. Make it happen, make some cash and move on to the next project. Go get 'em killa.
Doesn't sound like a social site, in fact, for someone who didn't know what CheaBoy is, it sounds more like a "male" site. If you're thinking of a gaming site, choose something that's commonly used in most games to appeal to a larger audience. I know this is outdated, but something like "ToggleSwitch" would give an idea as to what the site is.
It doesn't sound like a social network name to people who don't game, but if it's popular among gamers, go for it.
