Would this be to much of a risk for me?

    Hello,
    I have a website which I am very happy with, I rank number one for many keywords on Google and I get pretty good traffic to it. This has been the case the last +15 months so it is pretty consistent.

    But I feel the site could be so much better if i build it up from scratch with Joomla, but would the risk my site losing many links and perhaps losing its good ranking on google? Since the site will be moved to another hosting + it will be impossible to keep all the subpages the same.

    I did that with one of my sites used to be 50k in alexa thousands of backlinks 100s of pages all hand coded like http://www.mysite.com/category/numberofarticle.html Then I upgraded to wordpress becuase it took to long to add content and was not seoed. Now it is like 2,000,000 and no backlinks. Advice if you do spend time and put 301 redirects in and put both sites up and slowly migrate. In other words keep http://www.yoursite/old/structre and http://www.yoursite/new/structure and slowly replace old with 301 redirects.
