Would this be considered ripping off content?

Well I recently found a site that was posting some stuff found on my site on theirs. However, it's not copied word by word, and it's stuff like a freeware game, a funny site etc.

So technically, anyone could find this, however, I'm pretty sure they got it off my site since it was posted all in one day on their site, and it was posted the same day one of their members joined mine.

But as I stated before, since anyone could probably encounter such sites elsewhere, I shouldn't really be getting mad or anything, since they didn't copy and paste it word for word from my site. They'd just post the URL and say something like LOL, or this is cool etc.

I should only complain if they were to let say copy and paste my articles, right?

Just curious, who would you complain to? Is there really any recourse other than court?
I would ask them to put a link to your site where they found the websites but otherwise not much else you can do.

Yeah, adding an link on all copied posts would be okay. That way you will get traffic from there forums which will lead them to the origonal sorce of the posts.

    Hi

I really dislike webmasters that steal other peoples content. At the end of the day that is what it is down to. It is theft. Why should you spend your time coming up with unique content just for others to come along and steal it.

I would demand that either they remove the copied or put a link to your site or you will take further action. These people should find out that there is consequences to their actions.

    Thanks

    Pete
