Would this be considered blackhat???

I have a site that is difficult to get listed in the search engines, they have an extensive product line. Would it be frowned upon by the search engines if you write product reviews for say a couple hundred of their products on a completely different site then link back to the appropriate page on the other site?

 

I think you have to question why they are having difficulty in getting listed. No - it isn't Black Hat what you're asking ~ but it would be frowned upon to use exactly the same content.

 

Not at all, just do what you have to do to get your site indexed.

thanks everyone for your input but does google have a problem with one site linking completely and totally to another site and only that site. The content would not be identical either it would be different but similar. I jsut dont' want to upset google and have them say that we are just trying to create backlinks for the one site. any other input here would be greatly appreciated please let me know if i am not being clear here

 

i dont that it will be a black seo or spam. this means you are creating content to your site

 

Nothing wrong with that. That's the way to do it.

 

I don’t think it will be consider as Black Hat, but you might just want to link to google or some other site to make sure google doesn’t sees it as a door way site.

 

I would also try to find other high ranking, similar but not competing sites to link to. This will help gain the trust of Google and thus make for stronger links.

 

as DSB said....you should try and get to the root of the problem with your site...If the site has a penalty, what you are proposing will not get it indexed.

 

i agree unfortunately to reconstruct would be very costly and i mean very costly this build alone cost quite a substantial amount. there is over 20k products in this catalog online right now using iframes. there is some good content on our detailed product pages and we do get top ranking for a few items but some that we have worked on seems like we never make any progress. keyword density backlinking with appropriate anchor text header tags, alt tags, meta tags even though they aren't really weighted anymore so i was thinking of using a different method of writing reviews for our popular products and link them to our site. i jsut don't wnat the search engines to ban us over one domain linking to only one other domain
