As a blogger and forum owner I wanted to create a way for bloggers to openly promote their works on a discussion forum without having to fear reprisal from its moderators or members. My thought was to create a Blogger centered discussion forum that has all the typical forum discussion topics, but also has a separate section just for people to post article snippets and direct links back to those articles as a way to solicit feedback from fellow forum members about the article. This would help generate some traffic to the article, receive constructive feedback about the article without opening your website to "Spamming" and serve as a direct link back to your post for whatever SEO value may be gained by that. I realize there are plenty of discussion forums and social sites to submit articles to but I wanted to create a hybrid community for bloggers where it was acceptable and encouraged to promote your own work. I also wanted to set up a method of rewarding people for quality work by using the main (Site Index/Home Page) to display the most popular blogs, articles and forum posts to drive extra traffic to them. I have several other thoughts about this, but I realize most people are already bored reading this long post, so please share your thoughts and comments about this idea and whether you think it is worth considering. Is this a good idea or is it a waste of time? And why? Would you see this being a benefit to you? If so how?
