Would short url links be considered as back links

    Hi there,

    I recently found out that many websites have placed a short link to the articles shared from my website. Would these short link by bit.ly & is.gd be treated as back links by google and help improve my ranking?

    Hello southwind,

    Of course. Google will still register a link pointing to your website, even if the link is shortended.

    But not ALL shorteners will count. Some are No-Follow for reasons unknown. Check out whether they are no-follow or not

    And even if a link is No-Follow, a well placed No-Follow link can still bring traffic your way. :)
