Would people (you) hire me if I could only receive payment via Skrill (Moneybookers) and not PayPal?

OK the topic title pretty much sums it up.

Unfortunately, for some services I won't be able to use PayPal anymore, as my country only allows me to use PayPal for outgoing transactions, and I have been using my business partner's USA PayPal account as an alternative, but because he is upgrading for his own stuff, I won't be able to use it anymore.

So, how many of you actually use Skrill, and will start using it to enter a work relationship with someone?

As a general rule is not good to inconvenience clients. If they are not in the industry they will not even know what that is. Its almost easier to deal with contracts and see if they are open to using western union. Having an account with western union online is fairly trivial to deal with.

That being said, some folks find that a tad shady. I have had a few clients pay me that way occasionally if I am having a crisis but I have typically had them around for more than say 6 months.

It is somewhat predicated on your client base. If you can handle it, its not a terrible idea to use a local bank gateway or something like authorize.net if possible so you can just take a credit card payment from your site.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel
