Would people still pay for pixel advertising??

I've came up with an idea for a new site, with a bit of a twist on pixel advertising, im hoping to charge a dollar for a link on this site.

Im not asking you, im just wondering how many of you might pay a dollar for a link on a site like this..or is this market totally dried up?

I think if you can get a link on a site like this it can be worthwhile as a lot of time usually goes into marketing these sites.

I spent 50c on a pixel page and recieved 1000 clicks in the first 2 weeks, this was just last september. It worked out well and I still recieve about 10 every week now.

 

I think there was no market at all ...it was created by curiosity and fun..and one guy got a head start and got lucky. Now it's pretty tough to find a buyer for the pixels.

I wasted my 2 months on a pixel site with no byers last november.
...but still, you can make it work , if you can convince the buyers where the traffic is gonna come ...

 

yes, nowonwards this thing will not work, as it doesnot benefit SEO. The reason being the quantity of the links + the unrelativity factor.

I recomend not to go for it.

Atleast I dont want to spend my money for pixelads. Wordlinks are much better than pixelads.

 

If you want to know how many of us will purchase a pixel for a dollar...you gotta give us an idea of what you're selling.

If you want to see what happened to the last pixel ad twist (the word cloud site)...check out every other thread in the for sale section on DP. It is a worthless idea that has been beaten to death...and it would not be worth the effort. These sites are up for a week selling $.75 words and then go on sale the week after...in total, the owner makes about $100-$200.

Here's an idea for you...it came to me while I was waiting for my Ambien to kick in last night. It's called "battle pixels"....a concept very similar to the game battle ship. You purchase a pixel and then you can declare war on all the other pixels. You earn "moves" by spending more money...so say you want to knock out the Viagra Pixel Ad...you purchase a Torpedo for about $10 and off it goes. Your Pixel Ad grows as a result and if you really want to spend the money...you can eventually take over the entire page.

In all seriousness...please move on to the next novelty idea. Have you considered a web directory?

 

Unless you've got a high PR on the page then don't bother, it's an idea that's had its day IMHO

 

1000 clicksthrough? i not sure about this on ads clickthrough.
u might need to check the origin of the visitor, make sure its not auto/bot etc

The entire pixel concept is so overplayed it's not even funny.

I wouldn't spend a penny on one of these dumb web sites.

People need to be far more creative.
