Hi All, I have a blog site which is about a tv series/ book. It gets 500 visitors a day + and is only going up. This month has at the moment reached around 11,000 visits. Would people be interested in advertising on a site with this kind of traffic or is it too low etc? Also if it turns out I would be able to sell a few adversing spaces how much would people buy it for, I'm sure it depends on niche and traffic. Also is this the way to make money on this kind of site or is there a better way? Thanks, Scott
Do you collect demographics for your visitors? Knowing their location, number of times they visit, etc., might add value for a potential advertiser. You also need to decide which businesses your "typical visitor" would be most attractive to. For example, if the TV blog audience is primarily female in a certain age group and located in a particular geography, a business specifically trying to target that same audience with a high end product might be interested in advertising at your volumes. It really comes down to what traffic you are pulling in and which advertiser would best benefit from it. I know a website owner with low volume traffic, but it is comprised of embedded software engineers from electronics manufacturers. Often, they come to his site with specific problems or needs and looking for solutions. The hardware and software vendors that serve this market wait in line to get into his advertising queue.
go to buysellads.com and list it see what you get then you will know it doesn't matter what we say it only matters what the customers say (with their credit cards). Dan
Hello, People are interested in free information, if that is what you are giving them. If it is interesting enough, which it seems like it is, then you should have no problem selling space on your site. Especially if it is like minded people, maybe people that like to work from home, niche's like that might be appealing, to advertise on your site. If you integrate in a way they can make money from home, then your following could potentially grow, especially because your base is growing consistently. You can make money on your site by giving good valuable information, also providing a way for your base to make money doing something similar to what you are doing for example: You can do something like, do you like to blog? Or talk about A tv series/ books, and get paid to do so? Then give them options from there to make money doing what they do already on the internet. If you have any further questions about this let me know, have a good day.
I have web sites receiving over 50,000 unique visits per month and I wouldn't even ask for someone to Pay for an advertising spot... I don't think they would benefit from it... If you receive 11000 unique visits a month on a page where an ad is displayed MAYBE if you are lucky a hundred or so ppl will click. I don't see the value in someone driving 3 ppl a day to their site from a tv fan page.... What is that possibly worth... $4?
I have been selling advertising space on my weight loss site since it hit 25000 visitors a month. The difference is that you have to sell your advertising for less until you get a decent amount. Right now I am expecting to get 75,000 page loads (60,000 uniques) for this month and as such my advertising spaces are nearly always full and often people are waiting for advertising spots to become available. So don't worry about not having much traffic just offer a better rate and then as you build the traffic up you can then charge more.
If you have a website with traffic from real visitors in a profitable market where there are advertisers (obviously), you will definitely get advert requests. Consider creating an advertising page on your site as it can increase the number of requests you will receive.
If you know your market / people and demographics, then join an Affiliate Network and try to figure out what products they would want to buy. Put up some banners and see if you can make some referral / affiliate money. If you can't make money by trying a few products... The likely hood of someone else making money is slim too. The more you make, the more you can later demand for the space.
