Reading in a recent article in the NYT, there were suggestions that advertisers were happy generally with the amount they were bidding on Adwords. It went on to say that they advertsise through adwords and other similar programs to get their offerings (goods/services) exposure. They do not really expect sales immediately, it was more of a way to build their brand. They used examples of few companies (one was a major car manufacturer or dealer) that was using adwords to market their newcar. It was really saying that Adwords provided companies the abilty to instantly build the brand awareness and such by outbidding competitors. This suggests to me that adsense and other simalr offerings like YPN are here to stay for the long haul. What do you think?
I completely agree. It's great for brand awareness. I can't see PPC going away, it would be like all television ads going away
I believe nothing last forever unless there is a huge company behind whatever you are seeking for as part of your long-terms plans.
It is true that ppc will be around for a long time, however as more and more companies are discovering the benefits i think that competition will continue to rise along with the costs to have your ads on the first page. Can you see any possibly of paying 40 cents per click in 5 years?
