One of my sites is quite high ranking - and I want to keep it that way. Currently in negotiations with another site owner who has a very high quality content site in the same industry. He will sell me ONE backlink for a certain sum of money - quite reasonable, compared to what Google Adwords would charge. My question is this: is one backlink enough to a high ranking site? [Please note I am NOT asking is just one backlink enough - I have loads of backlinks to the site already - I am asking is one backlink to just one high ranking site enough to gain some traction with Google]
One backlink from a high authority site could equal a thousand backlinks from low authority sites. But since I do not know the competition you're up against I can not answer exactly.
You have probably already considered this, but does the site you are looking at buying a link on get a large amount of traffic compared to the traffic you would get from the same amount of money on Adwords? It sounds like a good idea to buy a link on a site that you know has high quality content and presumably targeted traffic.
Ask the owner of the link if he sold other links before. If so, do a check on the sites he sold backlinks to.
If that backlink from a high ranking site really can bring your more traffic and more visitors, I think maybe it's enough, since we all know that it's always expensive to get one backlink from a high ranking site.
IMO, yes. That is a general answer, to general question. In addition to other suggestions above, I would add that you make sure the link will be in place for a minimum of 1 year, hopefully more. Most likely, you will receive very little benefit for about 6 months. Some time after that, the link will 'age' sufficiently and then it will begin to have an impact.
i can answer that simply enough in a certain manner of speaking since it happened to my site but it wasn't from a link that i bought but it was an editorial link from a major american newspaper that had start a new section in my niche and when that one link appeared, the page that they gave the link to went to #2 spot (it was around #6-10 before then) and has been there ever since. so in this particular case of the link that i received (the page on that newspaper had an undefined page rank by the way) was of such overall Authority that it moved that page which recieved the link up quite a few notches. so in answer to your particular question one has to say, it depends. as you know google frowns on selling/buying links so say if this high quality site you are going to buy the link from is in the habit of selling links it may be noted by google as a link seller; if not, then it all depends one many factors, the main being how Authoritative/Trusted that other site/domain is in its niche, the page rank of the page that the link is going to be on, where the link is on the page, how authoritative that page is in itself, what kind of link text link would be the best, the mozRank of the domain and page, etc etc and many other factors..... ....so one backlink could be enough to move your page/domain up in the ranking yes. but there are many factors to consider including the price and how much it could help...
quality is important when you are getting backlink, but, it also depends on the search term you are ranking for. If no one is searching it, you wouldn't be getting traffic even if you're ranking on page 1. try using google's keyword tool and see how much search volume your term's getting https://adwords.google.ca/select/KeywordToolExternal
They are depends on two factors 1. How competitive of your targeting keywords / How active of your competitors - You cannot rank that easily if your targeting keyword got too high competitive, or competitors got a strong backlinks with quality content as well 2. How authority of your backlinks - Even you said you will get the quality inbound links it does not mean that totally solution in my opinion. If your competitor got the same or higher level authority backlink then this link would be useless.
Hi, Since you already have many backlinks, I think one new backlinks might be not so helpful for any purpose. all the best,
depends how many outgoing link son the sellers sites , since the effect is divided into the number of outgoing links .... so watch out ... before you buy ....
I can't consider link buying are good source of backlinks. it is like you are one the boat full of link loads.
Yes definitely, in my experience one really strong link can make a considerable difference to your rankings.
I will suggest you that does that one link improve your ranking or not depend on the site itself. Look the site may have a good PR. But if it is known as a link seller to Google, then probably you will not get that much value. You know that Google don't see them that much ethical. Before you buy a link make sure the website is not known as link seller, position of the website, how much the page gets visitors, where your link will be placed etc. Then go for it. Remember one authority link is better than 100s of others link
