Would love some advice on a potential site sale

    Hi folks,

I wanted to ask the community for some advice on a potential website sale. I've been running an open source software site called www.osliving.com for about 3 years. It's been a spare time thing and I originally set it up out of passion for OSS and because at the time I was frustrated at not having a place to house all my favourite software in one place. What started as a personal favourites list turned into a much larger group project which gained quite a bit of attention in the tech sphere at the time of the launch.

Over the past 2 years it's just been myself running the site, adding new software, posting the occasional blog etc. While I'm still passionate about OSS, I don't really get any pleasure from running the site anymore. Part of me thinks that it could be a strong base for someone to really make a go of a foray into the OSS world. As I'm sure most of you are aware, OSS has gone from strength to strength over the last few years so it's a good niche to be in.

Anyway, I got to thinking that it might be time to try and sell the site on. Ideally, I'd love to find someone passionate about OSS who would want to take over, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Since I don't have any experience in selling websites, I was wondering what people here would do if you were in my shoes? Would you try and sell it? Is it even worth anything? What would be your starting point?

Any input you might have would be very much appreciated indeed. Thanks for reading.

    Andrew.
