Is it wise to Google the phrase: Horse Food, and then contact all the people who are ranking high and ask for HORSE FOOD optimized anchor text links? Maybe offer money? MWM
If you could, yes. But don't count on it. They are your competitors. You would get better results from applying your DP Sigs than that. Your are allowed 4.
This is all about relevancy which google likes alot. So yes, if you could, then get links from them, preferably one way link.
the best links to get are from related website but not competitors. Well, they won't accept it anyway. And don't pay them because it would be a waste of your money. Just try to find forums, blogs, directories related to your niche and post (don't spam!) on them regularly That would be a good start
They'll probably say no, but then why not try a different search term in google or whichever search engine and, like buy horse food or something and then contact all the sites that rank high.
Look for related sites that you don't compete with. Of the top of my head here are some places you can try: Veterinarians Horse Stables Horse Trailer Builders Rodeos (and other horse related entertainment). Take some time to think about horses and you'll build a huge list and find that many of them will give you a link if you have a good site.
Good question. It's a good idea, BUT you are better off asking people from areas / countries who are not direct competitors, asn it would be silly to link really. As for boosting your serp with DP sig links as a few people have said..... this works, but ONLY for the keywords HORSE SHIT
