It's always a risk that there can be problems when using other companies trademarks in your domainname. The disclaimer is a good thing.

I always suggest to talk to the company before. But if you are a risk-taker go for it he he ;)

I have seen alot of ebay****.com sites before so it might be ok.

I agree. Trademark names in your domain can you into trouble. Most people write a disclaimer as a CMA, but in reality, it means they know they are breaking copyright laws, and hope that the other party will give leniance since they have this waiver.

COmpanies like ebay and google do not get too excited about using their trademark names in a domain.
But only if the domain is used for good purposes.
Like the ebay one, if for informational purposes with good links back to ebay, they would be happy the site is there.
A lot of those ebay domains sell ebay ebooks, software for ebay, that sort of thing.
Now if you were to use the domain to bash ebay, or promote another auction over ebay, you may have problems.

If they see it and dont like it....they will come after you! But then, they may not ever see it. When you get the first letter, simply remove it and play dumb!!

    Howdy,

If you're making money off their name that's when they start to frown. If it's more like a "fan" site... you should be okay.
