I would like to boost a website on Google and I have thought of couple of ideas on how to do that but I am not sure if I am breaking the Google rules? Will I get penalized by Google if...... A) I buy an expired domain with high traffic and redirect it to my main website. B) I buy an expired domain who is already listed on Yahoo directory and redirect it on my main website. The alternative would be: C) To do some sort of arbitrate and buy an expired domain with high traffic, place adsense on it and if lets say I make $50 a month on adsense. To spend $50 on adwords and drive traffic to the main website that way. (I know that will be OK with Google). But what about a & b ? Any ideas?
The option a which involved buying traffic does not go with Google. Actually Google does not like anything which are paid And your other ideas are legitimate, as far as I know.
First two options are good as long as the domain you are buying isn't already in Google's (or Adsense) blacklist.
Definitely the first two sound good, if the adsense adword thing worked out well I imagine it would be common practice. I would imagine google wouldn't like it. Even if they didn't mind it I don't think it would balance out the way you are imagining.
Thank you for your replies. After some more research I decided to drop the second option (buying an expired domain who is already listed in Yahoo directory) Yahoo directory removes manually all the URLs that get dropped from the register. Ideally you should buy the URL before it gets drop so you get some content and then you also know, for how long it will be listed in the Yahoo directory. So I would be looking to the first option, to buy a dropped URL with traffic (Back links) and redirected to my main website or even build a landing page with Adsense on it. However it will have to be the right URL i.e. similar content. Thanks again for your replies. N
