Hi A website(s) owner has approached me and is talking about linking to my site from a number of sites that he owns. The site are quite relevant to my site so this is good. I think his readers would find my site interesting. His websites are hosted across multiple IP addresses but would Google consider them to be from the same range? The anchor texts from each of the websites (IPs) would be different but the link would be the same. 64.111.102.204 205.196.214.172 208.113.152.141 208.97.139.222 208.97.148.218 208.97.151.54 208.97.143.135 Would Google consider the 7 websites hosted on these 7 IP addresses to be from the same range? Kind regards Paul
No I believe Google only looks at the C-block of the IP address. For example: AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD None of those IPs are sharing the same C-block so you're in the clear. Someone confirm this first before taking my word on that.
You should consider DNS records too in my opinion. Even if they might not use DNS records currently, they may use it later.
I have been given the indication from elsewhere that they look at [AAA.BBB] - if it is the same or different. Any opionions? Good point regarding DNS. How could I check that?
You should be fine. To be safe, though, check with the Webmaster to ensure that each IP is on a different subnet.
