If I switched from adsense to adbrite ads on my site, would google penalize me as far as my positions in the SERPS?

    I don't trust Google

I don`t think they care what kind of ads you use. I never heard someone saying that they got penalized for this kind of stuff.

    No they will not.

Both Google Adsense and Ad brite ads are not allowed at the same time.

    Regards

Hey Tehmina. AdSense and AdBrite ads in one page ARE ALLOWED as long as they have different format for the sizes and colors. :)

The algo for SERP is independent of the source of ads served on a page

No. There'll be no changes to your SERP's. But, I think adsense is better than adbrite.. so, why you switched to adbrite

Don't worry use them right away...

I would say adsense is better than Adbrite. Or use them both in the same page.

Make sure that they looks differnt, use different color.

Absolutely not.... PR and adsense are two different things and If I remember it right, Google's has a "Don't be Evil" policy :D

I dont think google can be bothered trying to penalise people with small blogs because they run Adbrite..

and btw the comment above about Adsense & Adbrite not allowed on the same page is not true..

you can run both.. but consider the user experience of your visitors

Large companies often lie and for Google this would be a beneficial lie if nobody found out. It would be risky though.

I strongly believe Google is telling the truth, but there isn't 100% accuracy about this as Google would never say 'yes put adsense on because we want to make as much money as possible, regardless of the search results'. In the long term that would be a bad plan, but if times ever got bad for google then its an option isn't it?

What I know of is that you can use adbrite and google ads together. I think adbrite has faqs and its mentioned over there.

Ads do not effect your serps since bots cannot read javascript and these ads use javascript.
