I'm looking into the options as to how to get 'Great' QS with my keywords and have just read the handy guide about DKI (Dynamic Keyword Insertion). I already have my keywords in individual adgroups but am just wondering whether DKI could help me get more consistent 'Great' QS's. For those that run DKI, how have they found it and what reasons do they use it in their campaign for? Thanks
Hi! Personnally I prefer to create as many adgroups as I need, that means if I advertise blank cds/dvds, i'll create adgroups like: - 80 min blank cd - 4.7gb blank dvd - double layer dvd - blank dvd+r - blank dvd-r etc. etc. Like that, you can create really relevant adtexts in each of these groups (2 or 3), redirect the potential customer to the right page of your site and above all your keywords will have already "great" QS by doing this. Moreover now keyword insertion isn't "automatic". Normally if your keyword to insert dynamically has got a bad quality, it's not likely to work. finally have you noticed all the advertisers using it in their adtexts?
I think that DKI doesn't count when your quality score is evaluated. Though someone with more experience of it should confirm that. I can see it's useful if you're running a huge campaign with thousands and thousands of keywords, but the end result is usually 'clunky' and often ends up in nonsensical ads. It doesn't matter if that happens occasionally if you're a huge corporation, but for a smaller business, it's not what you want.
If you have single keyword per adgroup, Dont use dynamic insertion (as its of no use), You can directly add the keyword in the headline., Also try to use the keyword in the display url, it may help in Increased CTR
DKI does not effect your quality score directly. Used correctly, it can increase your CTR and in turn your QS. Have a read of this and then DKI here Your landing page has much more to do with your QS than anything else.
Hi Cianuro! Pretty good article about DKI I must admit. short but exhaustive. And I really did like your last comment saying not to forget about common sense and putting the expression or KW manually when possible. But you're right DKI can be useful even if I'm not a fan of it (anymore). as you're based in Dublin, havent you ever thinking of being recruited by Yahoo 3 months, Microsoft 3 months and Google 3 months? ;-) to be the PPCs secrets of the secrets Master ??? ;-)
