I have a web directory and also read many different blogs. When commenting I always put one of my two blogs in the web site field. I was thinking that a good way to build relevant links for my web directory would be to instead put the url of a related to the discussion category from my directory in the url field. Would blog owners consider this comment spam, or as long as the comment is related and adds to the discussion, would it be ok?
Just my opinion - I think a deep link that is actually relevant to the comment would be much better than a home page link that may not be relevant. I would not consider it to be link spam unless the link was to a page that had nothing to do with the comment. I am also very curious to know what others think about this. Very good question.
I encourage it as long as the link is to a blog post that holds relevant info on my post. If it was a deep link to a directory the comment wouldn't get posted, I consider it comment spam.
I agree with the other posters. I like to see a blog post as the start of a conversation, if, through comments others can add to that conversation then that is great.
deep linking is of no harm as long as you stick to the idea that was discussed in the first place. Well, at least most of the people don't mind it.
Go for it. Deeplinking is cool as long as the comment is relevant. Be sure you don't post the link in your comment, though. I erase those kinds of posts immediately!
I can imagine. And about your new blog..... What's the deal with that? I'm still waiting for a reason to link to you
