I have a tutorials site (Photoshop, Flash, Web development...etc) Do you think that CJ could work well in my niche? I was thinking of marketing products like digital cameras or similar things that my users might find interesting but I wonder, from your experience, if users come to a site not for buying things, could CJ work for them?

Well you really have nothing to lose by trying. If you are getting good traffic to your site there is a chance that there may be buyers. Its all in the numbers, traffic to clicks then to actual purchases.

I have found banners not to work at all but text links embedded in useful content do, at least for me.

I'd say try it out, CJ has many well know products to put on a photo type website.

A digital cameras niche didn't work well for me. I had an entire shop just for them. On everage I would spend 15 cents per click on AdWords and there were very few buyers. I only ran it for about a month and didn't like it at all.

If I could I would suggest Jupiter Images from CJ. They offer royalty free images, clipart and some other helpful webmaster tools. Anything related to clipart is rather easy to get out with PPC programs.

Also premium website templates can go well but it is a competative market since there are many free website template downloads online. DreamTemplate offers a good service on CJ.
