Hello all, I have been tinkering with a web site but have not yet started the big marketing push. I have had the site submitted to directories and have published a small number of articles. I am getting a trickle of traffic, but mostly this is a "test" mode to see how traffic moves across the site. The site is http://www.mycomputerpaladin.com and is designed to be a resource for non-computer savvy people to learn the ins and outs of protecting their computer and their data. Please Note: I know I need to post at least once a day on the blog portion, so no need to tell me that! I am still playing with the layout and will deal with that shortly. In addition to any general critique you might have of the site, I am specifically asking for ideas on the following: 1) The landing page for the site is currently the blog entries/articles. I am wondering if this is a mistake. I am wondering if you have thoughts on landing the user on the "resources" page ("Computer Defense Tools and Essentials" across the top menu) and simply give them a link to the blog posts. I chose the blog posts because that data will be refreshed on a daily basis, but maybe I am confusing people who are coming to the site. 2) I currently use an Amazon Store to give people the option of buying tools that were discussed in the resource section. Any ideas about a better approach? I use Amazon because too much of what I see from places like Clickbank is "crapware" and such. 3) I need to break up the dense text in some areas with pictures, animations, etc. I would welcome any thoughts on other ways to not have it so "text dense". I don't want to exhaust the reader. Any and all ideas/critiques/suggestions are gratefully accepted. Please keep in mind that the site is for non-computer savvy people...not computer experts or power users. Thanks in advance!
