Would an "Avatar" Fan Forum be sucessful?

So I'm sure most of you all know about the movie Avatar as its the highest grossing film of all time. I loved this movie so much I have been considering making an avatar fan forum. (I saw the movie 3 times in IMAX hehe)

So I ask you guys:
Do you guys think this would be a good idea for a successful forum?
Do you have any suggestions for possible domains? (Seems a lot are taken)

Avatar has 2 more planned sequels and a novel coming out. So that maybe good for new content.

Any comments welcome.

 

What i think is , the forum can't be successful for long time.... As people interests or favorites might get changed from time to time.

 

That is true. But you can say that for any forum heh.

 

how you can say that it is common for all forums, a forum for a favorite movie is different from a forum for online marketing like Dp or forum for a news etc.... If he creates a forum for movies it might be long lasting depends on forum quality and management. can you get my point

 

I dont think so that the forum if established now will be successful. If Avatar part 2 comes out in future, you can get some great bunches of users, otherwise, the magic will soon fade away.

 

Well if Avatar becomes a long term franchise like Star Wars there is no reason it can't be successful.

Even if it doesn't become a long term franchise, with more movies, video games,a book coming and so many possibilities for user generated content there's going to be a lot of content to base the forum on.

If it is something you are passionate about, you should go for it. I would spend what you can afford on acquiring a good domain name though. 99% of people probably registered related domains and haven't done anything with them. Make an offer to them and see what happens.

How much people can discuss over a movie ?
Well your work is good in the forum, no PR till now however.

 

There are plenty of other movie forums around, why not Avatar? It's a great film that's revolutionized film, so this one should be more successful. PLUS, there are another 3 storylines, to build up to 4 movies. If done right, this will be successful.

I'll check out the site, but remember .com is king, the .net domain wouldn't really be the best for this purpose...

 

I would suggest not to make only for a particular movie fan site, I doubt it will be successful for a long time
