Would Adwords Refund me my $900 back ?, I WAS UNAWARE!!

    Has anybody had an issue with adwords Billing them too much? If so did you contact them and get a refund? PLEASE SHARE YOUR STORY....

    (Nb, I am more interested in people who have been in this situation to share their story and how they resolved it! )

    HERES MY SITUATION.. I tried to pause my account 2 months ago on adsense, and it DIDN'T work. I tried contacting google and they didn't reply. Now about 2 months later I receive my credit card statement(connected to adwords) and seen that Google has debited $900, $900 worth in adword clicks.....

    But this was due to the fact that I couldn't Pause my campaign, and didn't get a reply when i contacted google. I didnt even use the pay per clicks which totaled $900, so have wasted $900 on my credit card, which I beleive is unfair.

    HAS ANYBODY ELSE A SITUATION where Google HAVE REFUNDED your money back to you...? If so explain it in detail, and how you went about getting them to refund you? (which obviously involves contacting the billing department)
    What is your story?
    how did it get resolved ?

    THAT IS of being billed loads, and GOT that money refunded back to their credit card by contacting google ?

    if so explain your story in detail

    (and please don't say just accept it, and let them have your $900, because i want it back, and am already struggling with financial issues,,,,, so need the $900 back)
    What was your situation in detail? as this would help me get out of mine.

    Get back in detail people, Especially those who have been in a similar situation to above....

    You said that you couldn't pauses your campaign. If you were paying on a CPC basis then could have have tried to just change your bids on the campaign so you maximum bid is only $0.01. Do this will automatically lower or even stop people from seeing your ads especially if you were advertising in a competitive area of the market.

    Yes,

    also could one of the following:

    - pause the adgroups;
    - delete the campaign;
    - set the daily budget to a very low value;
    - delete the adgroups;
    - send a mail to support asking to close the account;
    - delete all the keywords;
    - delete all the ads;
    - contact your CC to blacklist Google

    Never under estimate the old fashioned method of speaking to staff over the phone.

    Staff can access your account and make adjustments for you.

    You say you tried to close your account by writing AdSense. Did you e-mail AdSense, or AdWords? This could make a huge difference. If you e-mailed AdSense support, that is why you didn't get a response; you are an AdWords user.

    I fear you may have no recourse here. It sounds like you made an honest mistake. When you didn't hear back from Google, you should have kept e-mailing them. You had to know that your account was active, since you couldn't pause your ads, and you didn't get an e-mail back from Google. Did you not check it for two months to see if you were being charged for clicks?

    EDIT: ON THE OTHER HAND, YOU COULD PRESENT YOUR ORIGINAL E-MAIL TO GOOGLE, AND MAYBE THEY WOULD TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION YOU ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THEM.

    It is all of your fault. You should have made sure to pause or stop the campaign.

    Although Google is considerate. But I do not feel in this case you can expect that. If It happen, almost all people who lost money on adwords will start asking money back. Even if they used it for making money.

    I have my disagreements with Google, but this one is your fault. As others have said, there are tons of ways to stop oyur campaigns, did you think it would magically stop? What the hell did you do that didn't work. Sounds like BS.

    I think they will ban you forever if you chargeback, so think about it before disputing Google charges.

    The one way I found to get your money back is to lodge a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Go to www.bbb.org and file a complaint. Google always answers and will be on record with the bureau about your account.
