Would a information website about a specific college be good for adsense earning?

In my experience usually only micro-niche websites about PRODUCTS get good adsense clicks. What about a micro niche website on a specific college. How do you think click rates would be?

You would generally be dealing with a fairly small market, the college will always outrank you for searches, and most of your traffic would be looking for the colleges website - not whatever is being promoted in your AdSense units.

I'm not sure if I can see a lot of profit here unless there are some really high paying advertisers who want to come up on a page like that.

Keyword research was showing me around $1-$6 per click for the keywords, though yes search's for the keywords were around 900 a month globally

Check how many advertisers there are, and consider the fact that most people looking for information on a specific college aren't looking to buy anything. More likely looking for free information, which probably means you'd have a pretty low CTR.

Worth maybe putting up a small site for testing though, if it performs well, build on it!

    Cheers,

If it's a site that is meant for repeat visits, maybe cpm ads would be better.
