Would a banner ad on a details page in paid directory bother you?

Its a pleasure as always pipes, we won't all have the same opinions, the good thing is out of a good relevant question you got some pretty good answers to help you make your own mind up which I'm sure you will, success to you.

 

Where I live mikey some people do have them beast of a size billboards stuck on the side of them, wonder how much the advertising companies pay the houseowner for them.

pipes I asked in phplinkdirectory forum and Dawzz says if someone didn't want to show ads on just that page to make a d-header.tpl with the info you want in it and just call that header on the detal page so it should make everyone happy

 

Hi jminscoe, so do you mean it would be possible that the ads could be shown on some details pages and not on others so that if they choose not to have them displayed then that choice would be there? apologies if im misunderstanding.

Edit, there is a mod for specifically placing the banner ads in the details pages.

 

it would not be on any of the details pages but I am sure you can also modify it to show on different ones for instance using and if statement should work
such as

{include file='d-header.tpl'}

{include file='header.tpl'}

This has been a very informative thread.

My site is different because I DO allow webmasters to edit their own "Details Page" (at MyDeepLinks), and they have paid for that feature, so that space should be used to highlight their website information. This is one of the reasons that I have left my website graphics simple...I want the Links to be the main attraction.

After reading responses to this post, I WILL NOT HAVE ADS ON DETAILS PAGES.
