It might look a bit spammy if they're your only links, but if they're honest links from related sites, I don't see why not.

Edit: 5000 subdomains on one domain? I think that's a serious red flag against you... I wouldnt suggest doing it.

 

A PR0 link thats within the content can be better than spammy PR2 backlink with a ton of other backlinks and is in the footer or somethings or dumped on a link page.

I have a friend. He's having a free hosting site. people register and get 50 mega of space... and their subdomain. He places a link to the bottom of the page.
This link can be mine.Now this would do good to google or not, will look like spam?

 

any link that point to your site is good ... 5000 from diferent sources and not SPAM are Good

 

Since all the links have the same IP address, this won't really give you any advantage in terms of Page rank, but it won't do harm. You still benefit from the free traffic these links can send you.

 

I think 5000 footer links will do wonders for you from traffic (direct clicks on those links). But it won't do much for you on google because they are all from the same domain. Is your friend willing to sell a footer link to me? I would sponsor it on a monthly basis (pm me)

I think that's going to look a bit fishy....but if its going to bring you traffic then I say do it.

 

as the other said, it will only gives you traffic. Having backlinks from sites on the same server/ip in Google is virtually useless as they see it as spammy, and decrease the normal PR linkage effect.

I firstly want to see how much traffic will drive trough the links. I think that much more than would google send me.

 

How are you going to get the 5000 backlinks? In what time frame? PR shouldn't really matter for linking, make sure that they are quality backlinks.
